Operation Back-to-School

This project is to help low income families help their kids return to school with necessary school supplies.  We will begin collecting school supplies in August at both services.  Start looking now in the ads for the best deals on backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, and other items. 

 Operation Showers of Appreciation

Saturday, September 19, Grace hosted a baby shower for NINE expecting mothers.   The women are expectant Active Duty, Active Reserves, E1-E7 or their spouses are Active Duty.  Many of the moms have a deployed spouse who will not be home for the arrival of their new baby.  We are honoring these families for their many sacrifices in a unique way by assisting them with various items needed for the arrival and care of their newborns.  We simply take care of our service members and their families while they are taking care of us.

The first goal of this project is to show the mothers that they are loved and supported.  The second goal is to thank them for the sacrifice they are making to serve our country.   

Just like with the Lily Project, we were looking for support from the wider community to help us with this project.  You are invited to bring a friend to the Saturday shower (both men and women) and thank you for the many items provided.
