When Ted and I sat down one evening and decided to have a conversation about religion, we quickly were confronted with the fact that we had become quite distant with our faith. We became caught up with having more babies and raising kids after our marriage 9 years ago. Once we got to a regular “sleep through the night” pattern, it became clear that our children needed more than what we were able to teach them. We wanted God and Jesus to be more than a story they hear about once or twice a year. It wasn’t hard to see that our children were missing the teachings of the Lord. Baptism to me, means the beginning of a relationship with God. Someone once said that baptism is “the outward expression of inward faith.” I am hoping as they get older, they feel secure in the guidance that faith brings and the very personal relationship they develop with God.
We thank Grace Church for accepting us into your wonderful community. We would also like to say Thank You to Mother ClayOla for taking the time to meet with us and guide us.
