www.humanesociety.org/.../the_episcopal_church.html This site includes the history of our Church related to the care of animals and resolutions passed by our General Convention.
Our own Church, Grace, is a pet friendly parish, and listed with other pet friendly Episcopal parishes across the country.
Someone once said, “God gave us dogs so that we could know unconditional love; and realizing that we also needed humility, gave us cats!” I know this to be true.
I also know that I have been blessed over the years with companion animals. At home they are, Wyatt, my golden retriever pal (who is a rescue gift) and an inherited cat who came to me as “Baby”, but who is now known as “Furball.” They are my friends and companions.
Another quote, “Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened!”
So as you think and pray about all the blessings we receive here at Grace, keep our animal friends in your prayers as well.
