O BLESSED LORD, YOU MINISTERED TO ALL WHO CAME TO YOU: LOOK WITH COMPASSION UPON ALL WHO THROUGH ADDICTION HAVE LOST THEIR HEALTH AND FREEDOM. RESTORE THEM THE ASSURANCE OF YOUR UNFAILING MERCY; REMOVE FROM THEM THE FEARS THAT BESET THEM;
STRENGTHEN THEM IN THE WORK OF THEIR RECOVERY; AND TO THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM, GIVE PATIENT UNDERSTANDING AND PERSEVERING LOVE. AMEN.
THE EPISCOPAL BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER
celebrating the process of recovering from addiction. The people in
recovery, including those who meet during the week here at Grace, are
honest and open as they work to take life "One day at a time."
Today and every day, we offer the prayer “For the Victims of Addiction”,
from The Book of Common Prayer for those struggling with addiction and those who care for them.
Bless them in their recovery.
NOTE: Next week I will begin a seven part series on Stewardship. It will
include ideas and prayers that I pray will guide us as we look at the
blessings we have received, and how being good stewards is part of God's
plan for each and every one of us.
