as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. ~ Prayer For St. Francis
have hosted adoption events and had the San Marcos Sheriffs K9 Unit here to give us a demonstration with Rex a former Navy Seal Dog who had two tours in Afghanistan. We are going to do all that and more for St. Francis Day this year! On Saturday, October 4, we are going to hold an event to celebrate animals in a way that we never have before.
It has been a great blessing to me to get to coordinate this event for the last several years because
animals are such a joy to me. Like children, the simple love, trust, and innocence that animals possess is as close to God-like as, I believe, it’s possible to get. They ask for nothing but love and protection and it’s up to us to ensure that they are provided for. It is my belief that God calls us to care for those who are unable to care for themselves and in our society that is a staggering number of animals.
