There are people we most likely see every day who have to make choices and the kinds of choices include; heating, medicine, rent or food, but never all of the above. I know that we are all affected by the economy, but I also know that we are more fortunate than many. We need to be sure that the basket is full as it can be when we carry it down the aisle each Sunday morning as part of our Sunday offering. To remind us of our blessings and of our call from God to help those who are less fortunate than we are. Those “ones” we offer our prayers for as we sit down to the meals we share. I know it will happen because of who we are at Grace. And I thought that a reminder for me and for you might be helpful.
On Sunday morning, or on any day that you might be here in the church, think to bring a non-perishable food item for the basket. Grab a can or two out of your cupboard to share.
That way those who have to choose between rent or heat, medicine or food, will have some help and something in their cupboards to eat.
