Aristotle once criticized Plato's opinion of communal living as the "tragedy of the commons" where those that share chores will fail to get anything done. That was definitely not the case with our shelter. Everyone came together as a team using their skills to everyone's benefit. For example, the younger folks did the heavy work by laying out cots and tables, while the older ones regaled the
children with stories and songs. I believe that there was a spiritual element among us that helped to make us shine as inhabitants of our temporary community.
